Henglu Bio awarded as one of the first member units of the Council of the National Dairy Technology Innovation Center.

As a co-construction unit of the National Dairy Technology Innovation Center, Shandong Henglu Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has been dedicated to the research of green advanced bio-manufacturing technology in the field of synthetic biology and the industrialization of functional active substances since its inception.

At the end of 2021, led by Professor Xu Fang, the founder and chief scientist of Henglu Bio, the R&D team utilized self-owned patented biocatalytic processes to achieve the mass production of LNTⅡ (a type of human milk oligosaccharide, also known as lacto-N-trioseⅡ), with a crystallization purity of 99.9%. Additionally, Henglu Bio has successfully developed a new substance—SalidrosideⅡ, which has shown medicinal effects superior to those of natural Rhodiola.

To accelerate the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, Henglu Bio has established a “Biomanufacturing” synthetic biology research platform, organically combining artificial intelligence and high-throughput screening with expression. The "Artificial Intelligence Manufacturing" process links every step from enzyme preparation synthesis to whole-cell synthesis in "green creation". With the aid of AI technology, Henglu Bio's research team can rapidly and accurately map protein structural information, significantly shortening the time needed for strain improvement, and enabling the efficient and environmentally friendly attainment of a wider range of desired products.
